There are things she’ll never be able to change, things she’ll always regret. There is no magic spell to rectify the past, no blue box that’s bigger on the inside, to take her back in time and there most definitely isn’t a majestic lion to help her see right from wrong.
When she was younger, she had thought life would be colourful and loud, like her favourite stories, but things never pan out the way you’d hoped. At least not the way you imagined when you were six years old. But that’s okay.
She might be a little bitter, a little sad and broken, but here standing on that rooftop, looking out at her city, she feels the most human she has in weeks.
And that’s all anyone wants to feel.
